As an older, out-of-homologation car, the Z4 will be placed into the GTX class of the GT Winter Series. It will be a significant point of interest to see how it stacks up against the modern day GT2, GT3 and Cup class machines on the grid. The team is expected to join the GTWS grid for Portimão and Valencia.
Classic & Speed is based at the Bilster Berg circuit in Bad Driburg, Germany. The squad specialises in preparing historic racing cars as well as modern machines, and runs several different makes and models in the emerging classic GT3 racing scene.
Marcus von Oeyenhausen is a prolific enthusiast and historic motorsport figure, routinely competing with cars of all vintages. His son, Christoph, has also been making appearances at historic events in recent times, and has raced this Z4 GT3 several times during 2025.
The von Oeyenhausen Z4 is an ex-Triple Eight chassis, which raced in British GT during a halcyon era for the championship. The Z4 was the first GT3-spec BMW built in-house, and achieved success across the world from 2010-2015. On the historic GT3 scene, the car is popular with paddocks and spectators alike, thanks to its ferocious 4.4-litre V8.
The 2026 GT Winter Series will begin from 15-18 January at Portimão. The five-round calendar will take in all of Portugal and Spain’s finest racing destinations, and fans will be able to join the fun trackside from just €10 per weekend ticket. Additionally, all of the racing action will be aired live on the Winter Series YouTube channel, in partnership with broadcast specialists Alpha Live.
