GEDLICH Racing will host six motorsport events at five circuits from January to March. Alongside the GT Winter Series and GT4 Winter Series, the programme features the Formula Winter Series with a new race format. The 6h of Portimão adds a standalone endurance race to the calendar.
The Winter Series by GEDLICH Racing will once again bring international motorsport to Portugal and Spain in 2027. Six events are scheduled from January to March, visiting Portimão, Estoril, Jerez, Barcelona and Valencia. With three separate championships, additional testing opportunities and the 6h of Portimão, the programme caters to gentleman drivers, emerging talents and professional racing teams.
The season opens with the GT Winter Series and GT4 Winter Series in Portimão from 14–17 January. One week later, the Formula Winter Series begins its campaign in Estoril. Following a further event in Portimão, the calendar moves to Spain, visiting Jerez and Barcelona before the season finale in Valencia from 4–7 March.
Two dedicated platforms for GT racing
The GT Winter Series offers international multi-class competition for a variety of GT machinery. It also provides a platform for ambitious gentleman drivers looking to continue racing through the winter and prepare for their next season.
The GT4 Winter Series gives GT4 machinery its own SRO-licensed championship. Technical scrutineering and Balance of Performance provide the framework for competition between young talents, experienced amateurs and Pro/Am driver pairings.
Both championships will compete at five events: Portimão in January, followed by Estoril, Jerez, Barcelona and Valencia.
New tournament format for the Formula Winter Series
The Formula Winter Series will introduce a new tournament format in 2027, with a maximum of 28 cars per race. Preliminary races will determine qualification for the concluding Masters Race. Drivers outside those qualification positions will compete in a separate Contenders Race, creating further opportunities for podium finishes and sporting exposure.
The Formula 4 championship will comprise five events. Following the opening round in Estoril, the series will visit Portimão in February, Jerez, Barcelona and Valencia. This gives young drivers the opportunity to gain international racing experience early in the year and prepare for their subsequent campaigns.
6h of Portimão adds a standalone endurance challenge
The 6h of Portimão will complement GEDLICH Racing’s winter programme from 4–6 February 2027. Held at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, the six-hour race welcomes both experienced endurance teams and squads taking their first steps into the discipline.
The event runs independently of the GT Winter Series and GT4 Winter Series championships and does not count towards their standings. The Formula Winter Series will also be in action that weekend, contesting its second event of the season in Portimão.
Additional testing for season preparation
Alongside its racing programme, GEDLICH Racing offers Race Tests. Teams and drivers can use these opportunities to develop car setups, work with new drivers and prepare for upcoming race commitments. Current dates and booking information are available in the Race Test calendar at gedlich-racing.com.
